History

The Human diaspora is the result of The Wasting War of a eleven-hundred years ago. Following the War, deserts have spanned where forests once stood and craters mark where cities once rose from fertile lands. The world is not as it was. Rather than face extinction, the races of the world allied against the Humans and destroyed their cities, burned their towns, razed their temples, torched their books, and erased their roads. The Kingdoms of Men disappeared and their homeless children roamed the world for centuries. On the millennial anniversary of The Wasting War, the Alliance offered a formal Absolution for the Human crimes. This edict gave Humans many rights: to seek work, to receive training, to earn money, to own land, to read and write, to speak Human languages, and worship Human gods. A hundred years have passed since the Absolution.
